Discover Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Including a Commander Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-loving heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The popular trading card game's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, announced a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a exclusive event held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical new set or yet another crossover marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.

Take a look here at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with key context. Everything listed here launches on March 6, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before we get into all the various unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Standard booster packs for the expansion are set at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a couple of surprising details. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, where gamers can play powerful creatures onto the battlefield whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference here is that this new ability can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the ability a little (It is treated as playing a spell, as opposed to the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see Sneak in future sets from now on.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that plane is it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” a senior designer explained. “However on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and the new ability is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four cards with special art designed specifically for the expansion by TMNT original artist Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. But as per the developers, that's now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per the company’s existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for 15 months and we knew it would be in standard and which sets would be near it in standard,” the designer says. “We designed to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet strategy built around artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” the designer says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability named “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area rather than just one). Take a look for yourself:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise due to demand. Wizards told that it contains 43 new cards altogether, which means an extra thirty-seven Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck includes 37 land cards.)

How will the TMNT version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and see.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

Typically, Wizards is selling a bundle. It costs $69.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil land cards
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Traditional foil promotional card
  • One Large life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it is packaged in what looks like a pizza box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

For those curious what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new TMNT art. Wizards showed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter sprinkling toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is designed for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to play draft)
  • One Premium Booster (aka, the reward for coming in first)
  • Ninety Regular land cards (to build your draft deck)
  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • One Draft insert (a single-page guide to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Lastly, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to create Magic products specifically for beginners. Here, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that let you and a friend team up to face a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The general idea is that each Boss card gives unique powers to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays an additional card per turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
